       1. GC-MS

 

a.      Lectures and demonstration

      ·        Practical application of AMDIS and NIST Search, basic software use, creation of libraries

      ·        Application of OCAD

      ·        Preparation of GC-MS for analysis: tuning, performance check, troubleshooting

      ·        Sample preparation for GC-MS analysis

      ·        Analysis of prepared sample

      ·        Interpretation of results

      ·        Identification of analytes

      ·        Preparation of the report

 

b.     Exercises

      ·        Planning of analytical process – quiz

      ·        Analysis of test sample including sample preparation, GC-MS run, identification of unknown (scheduled)

            chemicals, preparation of the report.        

 

  

      2. ATR Spectroscopy

 

a.      Lectures and demonstration

      ·     User level training on software

      ·     Basics of the technique: area of application, limitations

      ·     Sample analysis

      ·     Creation of libraries

 

b.     Exercises
